A simple and efficient way to heat offices
Each tile provides comfort warmth to the area directly below it by delivering gentle infrared energy to people and surfaces in that space. A group of three or four tiles is enough to heat a single workspace in an otherwise cold room. This ability to heat small areas, or even individual tiles, means that organisations can save money by avoiding heating a whole office floor on days with low occupancy. Additionally, the tiles warm up within 1-3 minutes, so it’s not necessary to heat a room gradually for long periods before staff arrive.
Core NexGen technology powers each tile
NexGen ceiling tiles are made of high performance insulation panels wrapped in NexGens’ proprietary infrared paper. The tile has electrical connections which are wired into a power supply; a single power supply typically also powers a small number of adjacent tiles. When switched on together, these tiles deliver enough infrared energy to provide comfort warmth to a single desk or workstation.
Ultra-low voltage electricity for safety
Each group of tiles is wired into an ultra-low voltage electricity supply (24 volts). The lightweight cables run from each sheet to a low voltage transformer which can either be hidden in the ceiling void above the suspended grid, or in a nearby cupboard. The transformers are powered by a standard 240v supply.
We use low voltage power for two reasons: First, it’s much safer – even if you manage to cut the paper and short-circuit the power supply, an electric shock would not be not dangerous to human health. Second, a low voltage supply heats the tile very gently, so the surface temperature of the tile remains low – typically in the range of 40-50C. This provides a gentle, comfortable warmth in the area under the tiles, and in the event that someone reaches up to touch the ceiling, there is no risk of fingers being burned.
Designed for safety, durability and reuse
NexGen tiles are water-resistant and fireproof. They are a standard size (595mm) and drop into existing standard suspended tile frame structures, and if a change of location is needed, are easily removable and reusable in other locations. NexGen ceiling tiles come with a 15 year warranty.
Smart controls
Each area within an open plan office can become a separate zone and can be controlled by a thermostat, our smart app, or existing building management systems. A zone can be as small as a single desk – so maximising the efficiency of the system.
It’s easy to control temperatures and timers in each zone.
We use NexGen ceiling tiles to heat our own office. When there are only a few of us in the office, we heat parts of the office and not others – it’s warm and comfortable.
Low Carbon Solution: NexGen tiles are powered by electricity – the cleanest form of power – and particularly when combined with solar panels and batteries, can produce a truly zero carbon heating solution. Office workers are becoming more and more sensitive to the environmental credentials of their workplace.
Super Energy-Efficient
NexGen ceiling tiles are extremely energy-efficient. Here’s why:
NexGen’s Far Infrared heats people (and objects) directly; we feel the warmth on our skin as we do in sunlight.
In contrast, traditional heating systems transmit heat indirectly by warming the air. We feel warmer, even with a lower ambient air temperature, when being warmed by far infrared.
NexGen tiles can be turned on individually or in small groups, warming only the areas directly below them. If occupancy is low, selected small areas of the office can be warmed, leaving unused areas unheated.
NexGen doesn’t just warm up—it practically sprints to cozy temperatures, achieving comfort warmth in as little as 1-2 minutes. That means that we don’t have to heat rooms for long periods when we’re not there, just to make it warm for when we do arrive.
Saving money
NexGen sips electricity – but there are still more savings to be had!
Low up-front cost and inexpensive installation – ask for an estimate!
Tiles can be dropped into existing grid structures, and can be removed and redeployed elsewhere.
Zero scheduled maintenance and a 15-year warranty
Safety and control
NexGen tiles run on ultra-low voltage electricity so it’s ultra-safe – you can even cut holes in the tiles to work around lights and other fittings.
The tiles operate at low surface temperatures, so you can’t burn yourself by touching them.
