BETWEEN CONVENTIONAL AND INFRARED HEATING
Let’s consider this carefully for a moment – power (kWh), costs 12p per unit, while mains gas costs 4p per unit. It may be easy to simply go with these numbers and give a badge of honour to mains gas as being a highly economical solution; however, the comparison (and benefits) must be understood at length.
How is comfortable room temperature maintained ? For those using a regular gas heating system, the thermostat is typically set around 20 degrees C, which is what the ambient temperature would need to be in order for the occupant to feel reasonably warm. Since infrared heating systems heat up solid objects, including the occupant as our bodies attract infrared rays, the ambient air temperature is entirely irrelevant – it could be well below zero but the occupant would still feel more than adequately warm due to the far infrared rays.
This inevitably means that even if you set the thermostat on your infrared heating system significantly lower than 20 degrees C, you would still feel comfortably warm. At the end of the day, you are looking at marked energy savings. Please see below for more savings.
EASY AND CHEAP TO INSTALL
Installing an NexGen in your home or office is nothing short of a breeze. There is no pipework or wiring required. There are many ways Nexgen Heating can save you money. Below are just a few of them
Nexgen covers 95% of the area with its patented graphite mix. In comparison FAR Infrared Wire and Wire Mats cover 2% to 3% and Carbon Film around 60% coverage. A Panel is also on average 2%. Also worth noting water based Under Floor Heating only covers on average 30%. Because of this Nexgen saves between 15% to 24% in running costs AND gives a constant consistent temperature.
Reaction to fluctuations in temperature
Nexgen warms up FAST and you can use a floor and wall thermostat to give you total control.Also even with Under Floor Heating as Nexgen is just below the floor covering it uses around 20% less energy than a Water based Under Floor Heating System.
Heat Loss to the ground
Again water based systems lose 7% to 10% more mainly due to running at a flow rate of up to 50°C.

Heat transfer of an area is proportional to the floor area. If we also take into account the difference between the floor , wall or ceiling temperatures (dependent on Insulation) Nexgen uses around 70% less energy than wire and wire mat electric solutions and around 55% less energy than a Water based system.
